Nigel Morgan, Back SpecialistAssessment and Treatment for Back Care and Injury Prevention
If you suffer with on going back pain or discomfort, or recurring injuries, more often than not you may have received treatment and advice that had a short term effect. This is usually because only the site of pain or injury is treated. Here, Nigel Morgan, will carry out a comprehensive Biomechanical screening as well as that of the obvious history, signs and symptoms.
Through these assessments Nigel can gather information as to what state your body is in, biomechanically, and the possible influences that may be inhibiting factors. After the assessment, specific remedial massage is given, as well as a simple exercise routine for you to help yourself manage or overcome everyday limitations and move more freely.
Drew Bird, DramatherapistWorking with Trauma and Loss
A case study...
"John had a car accident some years ago that was traumatic resulting in
close family members dying. Since then he has had reoccurring nightmares and
often finds himself reliving the details of the accident, resulting in panic
attacks. The accident had been difficult to forget and John struggled to
move on with his life. He often found talking about it would retrigger the
event resulting in him feeling re traumatized. He was a bit sceptical about
individual Dramatherapy as other talking therapies had left him feeling
overwhelmed. To his surprise he found working with a symbolic story he was
already familiar helping him to explore his experiences in a safe way. He
was able to develop a symbolic story using small objects, drawings and the
characters in a scene to process his experiences indirectly. To his surprise
he also enjoyed individual Dramatherapy even though he did not consider
himself creative he was able to gain new confidence in his ability to
express himself. He found Dramatherapy safe and comfortable because he did
not have to relive the details of the accident, but also achieve a sense of
peace and control over his life again."
